To convert a time in minutes to seconds, multiply the number of minutes by 60, for example, 12 minutes:
12 x 60 = 720, so in 12 minutes we have 720 seconds.
The multiplication by 60 is done, because each minute has 60 seconds, so 1 minute is 60 seconds, 2 minutes is 2 x 60 which is 120 seconds, and so on.
One day, i.e. 24 hours, has 86,400 seconds.
